Chargers Team Report (Yahoo! Sports) -

The Chargers put the lid on what on the most bizarre camps they've had in years.

They hit the field for good Sept. 13 in a Monday Night game against the Chiefs. Maybe at that point the year will take on a sense of normalcy.

The recently concluded camp will be known almost for as much as who wasn't here and those in attendance.

The Chargers got linebacker Shawne Merriman in late and never did see two other Pro Bowlers, left tackle Marcus McNeill and wide receiver Vincent Jackson. Those two are still bent over the lack of a long-term contract and it appears unlikely they will play much—if at all—for the Chargers this year.

That's quite a blow to a squad with Super Bowl aspirations—again—and the Chargers were hoping this was the year they...

Chargers sign veteran tackle Terry (AP) - The San Diego Chargers have signed veteran offensive tackle Adam Terry to a one-year contract and released tackle Ryan Otterson. Terry was cut Saturday by Indianapolis. He played with Baltimore from 2005-09. This is the second attempt by the Chargers to add veteran depth at tackle to help fill the void left by Marcus McNeill's holdout.

NFL cutdown day: AFC West (SportingNews.com) - Teams had until 5 p.m. ET Sept. 4 to reach the NFL-mandated 53-player roster limit. Here's a team-by-team look from SN's correspondents at cuts and other decisions by teams in the division: Denver Broncos The decision to place outside linebacker Elvis Dumervil on injured reserve is the right move considering the long recovery process involved with a torn pectoral muscle. Coaches aren't set on Dumervil's replacement, but it could be a combination of Jarvis Moss, Jason Hunter and Baraka Atkins opposite Robert Ayers.

Chargers cut 3rd-string QB Crompton, Reed (AP) - The San Diego Chargers have released rookie third-string quarterback Jonathan Crompton and veterans Josh Reed and Nathan Vasher to reach the 53-man roster limit. Crompton was a fifth-round draft pick. The Chargers also released tight end Dedrick Epps, a seventh-round pick. Reed was signed to a one-year deal in mid-June as a pre-emptive move against a long holdout by Pro Bowler Vincent Jackson.
